Walsingham Estate Mixed Beef & Venison Box

There aren’t many farm shops that supply native breed beef and venison, from wild deer, from the same patch of land. But for us it’s all about traceability and sustainability – we need to keep the deer down because they damage trees and hedges at Walsingham and the Aberdeen Angus cattle encourage rare birds like lapwings and redshank onto our meadows. 

This mixed box is designed by Patrick Galbraith. Patrick lives locally and helps manage our deer and the Woodhouse family, who have been here for three generations, have a pedigree herd of Aberdeen Angus cattle. 

Patrick has chosen his favourite cuts of both muntjac and beef to make up a mixed box and we’ve kept the price as low as we can. 

Patrick really enjoys taking people stalking so we’ve decided to do just 30 of these mixed boxes and one of them will contain a special ticket that entitles whoever wins it to a stalking trip in November or December (either this year or next, just whatever suits). Patrick will take you out in the evening and the following morning for a Chinese water deer, a muntjac, or a roe. All you need to do is sort accommodation at the lovely pub in the village and he’ll get your deer processed (in the likelihood you shoot one) and will have the butchered meat sent to you. It promises to be a very special experience on some lovely ground and we like to think a one in 30 chance is good odds. 

Every cut in this box comes individually vacuum-packed, labelled and frozen. We blast freeze in the shop for optimum freshness.

Storage & Delivery

All cuts arrive individually vacuum-packed and labelled with use-by dates. The box is an insulated box with ice packs to keep everything fresh in transit. It can be put in the fridge to defrost for immediate use, or the duration of its use by date for longer frozen storage.
