The English Distillery - Original Whisky

The English Distillery, founded by the Nelstrop family in 2006, holds a unique place in the history of English distilling. Based in Norfolk, 30minutes from Norwich, it became the first licensed distillery in England to produce whisky in over 100 years, after the last whisky distillery in the country ceased operations in 1901. The distillery, nestled near the River Thet, is known for producing award-winning whisky using locally sourced ingredients. It’s an independent, family-run business, and visitors can tour the distilling facilities and sample their signature spirits. Over the years, The English Distillery has helped put English whisky on the map, winning numerous awards for its high-quality craftsmanship.

The English Original Whisky is our ‘at home anywhere’ whisky - a remarkably easy-going, unpeated single malt that will wow you with its exceptional balance, making this expression a favourite for first-timers and whisky lovers alike. Non-chill filtered. Natural colouring.

Specially selected ex-bourbon casks bring subtle sweet & spicy notes, a richness on the nose and roundness on the palate, giving a beautiful balance of nuts, chocolate and zesty citrus that melts in the mouth with a gentle yet unmistakable, notes of vanilla and tropical fruits.

Serving suggestion:

This whisky is versatile in serving: it can be enjoyed neat to appreciate its layered flavours fully, or served with a splash of water to open up its sweetness and complexity. Some fans suggest letting it warm slightly in hand to enhance its aromas or adding a single ice cube for a refreshing twist
