Shepherd's Pie

Shepherd's pie, a filling nourishing meal all in one easy to heat dish 🥩🥕🥄
Today’s homemade ready-prepared meals combine the traditional art of home cooking with modern convenience, offering the comfort of a freshly made dish without the time-consuming prep.
Our Shepherd's pie is a classic British dish made with minced Norfolk lamb, vegetables, and gravy, topped with a layer of mashed potatoes. It's typically baked until the top of the mashed potatoes is golden and crispy.
The dish is similar to cottage pie, but the main difference is that shepherd's pie specifically uses lamb, while cottage pie uses beef. The name "shepherd's pie" comes from the association with shepherds who would have lamb on their farms.
Traditionally, the lamb is cooked with onions, carrots, peas, and sometimes other vegetables, all simmered in a savoury gravy. The mashed potatoes are spread on top to form a crust as the pie bakes, giving it a comforting and satisfying finish. Shepherd's pie is considered a hearty, filling dish, often enjoyed during colder weather
Today in our deli we use prime Norfolk minced lamb, onions, carrots and peas slow cooked with our home made gravy to make a really comforting filling meal.
