Beef Lasagne

A quick, comforting meal at home 🥣
Today’s homemade ready-prepared meals combine the traditional art of home cooking with modern convenience, offering the comfort of a freshly made dish without the time-consuming prep.
Lasagne has its origins in ancient Greece, where a dish called Laganon was made from layers of pasta dough and sauce. However, the modern version we know today—layered pasta, meat sauce, béchamel, and cheese—comes from Italy, specifically the region of Emilia-Romagna. The word lasagne itself comes from the Greek Laganon, which referred to flat sheets of dough, and was later adopted by the Romans.
The dish evolved over centuries in Italy, and by the 14th century, a version resembling modern lasagne appeared in Naples. Lasagne's iconic layered structure became widely popular in the 18th and 19th centuries as it was refined and adapted with different regional ingredients, such as the addition of béchamel sauce in the north of Italy. Today, lasagne is a global favourite, with various versions made around the world.
