This bold red is bursting with rich plum and dark berry fruits. Spicy with notes of coffee and blackberries and slightly toasted as a result of having been aged in oak barrels.
Plum and vanilla come through beautifully on the palate and a fruity blend of Rondo Dornfeider grapes makes this wine perfect with poultry and soft cheeses.
Winbirri Vineyard produces world-beating English wines here in Norfolk. They have 25 acres in Surlingham which is an important Anglo-Saxon settlement on the edge of the Norfolk Broads National Park. The name Winbirri comes from the Anglo-Saxon 'win' (wine) and 'birri' (grape).
